Photo Challenge 2016 – Week 1: Trees

It doesn’t matter whether you like Mark Zuckerberg or not, you must give him props for his New Year’s resolutions. Not just because they tend to be ambitious (learning Mandarin, read two books a month) but also because the Facebook founder and CEO does share them with the public.

Zuckerberg’s challenges for 2016 are “to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work. You can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man“ – plus running 365 miles.

Every year, I take on a personal challenge to learn new things and grow outside my work at Facebook. My challenges in…

Have you made a New Year’s resoultion for 2016?

If improving your photography skills is on your list, we want to help you. Especially at this time of the year the weather can be your worst enemy. It’s too dark for a nice picture! Pressing the shutter with the gloves on is too difficult! And besides, the rain or snow could wreck the camera!

But real inspiration waits outside. Just take your camera, step outside the door and walk.

Since it is always easier to work on a goal when there is a stimulus, we have come up with the idea of the 2016 Photo Challenge that includes a simple photography task per week. That’s all; we want to keep it as simple as possible because if something is too complicated we most likely won’t keep up for long.

So here it is: This week’s challenge is “trees”.

Go find a tree, take a picture. Take another picture, and another … Check your photographs, do you like them? If not, try another perspective; turn your camera to the tree top or down to the roots. Change your focus.

You don’t need sunlight to create interesting images.

Why not change your perspective?

Watch out for the tiniest treasures!

And change your focus.

Got it? Of course, it would be cool to see your photos on our Facebook page. Use the comment section under the challenges to show the world what you have achieved. Still, no pressure from our side. 😉
