If you’re a big fan of sports, you’ve probably counted down the days until the Rio Olympic Games. In four days we will watch 206 countries compete in 42 sports disciplines. And Team USA unquestionably will be one of the top teams with Michael Phelps (Swimming), Simone Biles (Gynmastics), Kevin Durant (Basketball), Allyson Felix (Track and Field), Meb Keflezighi (Track and Field), Hope Solo (Soccer), Serena Williams (Tennis) and Venus Williams (Tennis) in it – to name a few.
With a total of 2404* medals, the United States of America leads the all-time Summer Olympics.
But this coming Friday (August 5th) not only marks the beginning of the 2016 Olympic Games, amusingly it falls on the same day as the International Beer Day (IBD). Founded 2007 by six guys in California, the IBD became quickly an international fun holiday that currently takes place annually on the first Friday in August. According to the creators, the purpose is:
- To gather with friends and enjoy the deliciousness that is beer.
- To celebrate the dedicated men and women who brew and serve our beer.
- To bring the world together under the united banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations and cultures together on this one remarkable day.
This week’s photo task is, depending on whether you’re an athlete or a couch athlete, to either snap a beer themed photograph or a sports themed image. Or probably you’re able to combine both in some way?
Have a nice week!
